Welcome! The BRANCH Lab (Body image, Resilience, Adjustment, Nutrition, Culture, and Health) examines how cultural, psychosocial, and biological factors intersect to shape health and well-being. Our research focuses on body image, eating behaviors, nutrition, and internalizing symptoms, with particular attention to stress, resilience, and cultural adjustment.
We study these processes across critical life stages, from young adulthood to pregnancy, to identify both risk and protective pathways. By integrating survey-based, behavioral, and biomarker data, our work highlights how individuals adapt to cultural and developmental transitions, and how these adaptations influence mental and physical health in an increasingly globalized world.

Our ultimate goal is to generate knowledge that informs culturally grounded prevention and intervention efforts, particularly for individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds who may experience heightened stress, body image concerns, or nutritional challenges.
