Peiyi Wang, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Psychological Science at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), where she directs the BRANCH Lab (Body image, Resilience, Adjustment, Nutrition, Culture, and Health). She earned her doctorate in Psychological Science, with a concentration in Social and Health Psychology and a minor in Quantitative Methods, from the University of California, Irvine. Her work has been recognized and supported by national organizations such as the American Psychological Foundation and by international scientific societies such as the Society for Biopsychosocial Science and Medicine.
Dr. Wang’s research examines the role of culture in shaping health outcomes, with particular focus on body image, eating behaviors, and nutritional intake. Her work, published in high-impact journals including Body Image, the International Journal of Eating Disorders, and Appetite, integrates psychosocial, cultural, and biological perspectives to better understand health risks and resilience across diverse populations.
